Netflix and...Christmas Cheer

With two original movies that come from the same North Pole shop as Hallmark’s Christmas range blowing up the internet, Netflix knows exactly what you need for this holiday weekend of baking cookies and wrapping presents. 
No doubt you’ve heard about the candy-coated craziness that is A Christmas Prince. Starring iZombie’s very own Rose McIver, A Christmas Prince tells the story of a hungry journalist who travels from NYC to the country of Aldovia to get the scoop on the handsome prince who is about to ascend the throne. Inexplicable English accents abound, along with all the best romance movie tropes and a dollop of political intrigue that culminates in the most thrilling race for legal clarification your heart never knew it wanted. Suspend your disbelief at the door and curl up with some cozy cuteness. 
If your favorite stories are less about marrying up in a dizzying Disney-esque scene and more about coming back down to Earth in time for Christmas, look no further than Christmas Inheritance. Christmas Inheritance, starring another CW leading lady, The 100’s Eliza Taylor, is about an heiress sent to a small town to learn about the hard work her father’s business really takes and what love is really all about. 
Whatever your preferred story about love and family this time of year, have a very happy holiday weekend!

Book Rec: The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane

I've lived my whole life near enough Salem, Massachusetts for an easy weekender, but I've never done so. I mean, it's roughly the same time as my usual monthly trek to see my long-distance paramour, just the opposite direction, and yet, I've never gone. It might be that I'm worried the mystique will wear off; or, just as likely, that the mystique will increase to the point where I'm another silly tourist, dropping dollars left and left on callous reminders of a deeply misogynistic rampage-turned-horror movie twaddle. Movies to Watch on the Big Screen

I have been meaning to make this post for three months, but I stand by the premise. If at all possible, go watch these three movies on a big screen with a big speaker and some overly-salty junk food. I promise you, it's how they should be watched. Black Panther You thought the three-month comment was a joke, huh?
